Over the course of 2015 a voluntary representative committee of staff members, chaired by Mrs Roggio, met every two weeks after school to review our whole school behaviour plan. They set out to develop a clear set of school rules that everyone will be able to remember more easily than what we have previously had.
Through using Positive Behaviour in Schools (PBS) framework the PBS Committee honed down the school rules into five areas and have developed the acronym SAILS as a memory jogger:
Achieves their best
Includes and cares
Listens attentively Stays safe
Each rule of SAILS has four behaviours that elaborates on the main rule and helps to clarify what behaviour we expect to see across our school. I will expand on the SAILS acronym next Navigator. Those of you with a keen eye will have noticed SAILS posters around the school already.
